31 Light Blue Bridesmaid Dresses for 2026 and 2027 Weddings

A bride I worked with this spring chose “light blue” for her six bridesmaids and sent them a link to three different shops. Two weeks later, a box of sky blue arrived next to a box of something closer to grey, and a third dress that looked lilac under the kitchen lights. Every shop had called its colour light blue.

After thirty years of planning weddings, that story is the first thing I tell anyone choosing this colour. Light blue is a lovely choice and it photographs softly in almost any venue, but the name means something different at every brand. Below are 31 dresses I’d happily put in a bridal party, each with the exact shade name, where to find it and how I’d style it.

Why light blue keeps selling

Brides are ordering it. Kennedy Blue reports that blue has overtaken green as its top colour family, with Cornflower its best-selling dress colour and Sky its most-requested swatch. Sky and Slate sit first and second on its 2027 list.

Icy blue is the fresh twist. Vogue Adria reported a 55 percent rise in Pinterest searches for icy blue wedding dresses this year, and Pinterest’s own wedding report shows Bridgerton blue searches doubling.

Editors are looking elsewhere. The bigger trend jumps went to plum, olive and mauve, and THE WED’s 2027 colour list leaves blue out entirely. Light blue is the colour brides actually buy, and a safe one to look back on in your photos.

Before you order: shade names don’t match

Retailers use about ten names for light blue. The clear ones are sky, baby, ice, powder, cornflower and periwinkle. The softer, greyer ones are dusty, French, mist, slate and steel. Even then, one brand’s cornflower is another brand’s periwinkle, and Revelry’s dusty blue is brighter than most.

Order swatches. Most brands send them free or for a few dollars. Look at them by a window and under the lamps in your venue.

Match the fabric too. Satin reflects light and can look almost silver. Chiffon reads a little deeper where it layers, and tulle goes soft and watery in photos.

Place one group order. Dessy warns that dye lots vary between orders, so dresses bought weeks apart may not match. One order keeps them in the same batch.

The shades (dresses 1 to 10)

1. Sky blue convertible satin

The look: A sky blue stretch satin strapless A-line maxi that converts to other necklines.

Where to find it: Azazie Lucienne, $99.

Best for: Spring 2027 garden weddings.

Kennedy Blue puts Sky first on its 2027 colour list, and this is the shade I’d hand a bride who wants the colour everyone will ask about next year. Satin gives sky blue a soft shine that photographs well in the shade of a garden.

Hair and makeup: A low textured chignon with a few face-framing pieces, with a dewy base, peach cheeks and a soft pink lip. Jewellery: pearl studs.

2. Cornflower one-shoulder chiffon

The look: A cornflower blue dress with a one-shoulder tie, a structured bodice and a flowing A-line chiffon skirt.

Where to find it: Kennedy Blue Eloise, price on the Kennedy Blue site.

Best for: Summer lakeside weddings.

Cornflower is the dress colour Kennedy Blue sells most, and it sits right between periwinkle and baby blue. The shoulder tie adds movement when she walks down the aisle.

Hair and makeup: A sleek side part with soft waves pinned behind one ear, with lilac shimmer on the lids and a rosy nude lip. Jewellery: small silver studs.

3. Dusty blue chiffon for every skin tone

The look: A dusty blue chiffon one-shoulder A-line maxi.

Where to find it: Azazie Phaedra, $89.

Best for: Mixed bridal parties in any season.

If your bridesmaids have very different undertones, start here. Azazie calls dusty blue the more forgiving of the cool blues because the hint of grey-violet softens the contrast with warm and olive skin.

Hair and makeup: A loose braided crown with soft tendrils, with warm bronze lids and a terracotta nude lip. Jewellery: rose gold drop earrings.

4. Slate blue satin for fall

The look: A slate blue satin maxi with a simple neckline.

Where to find it: Lulus lists several Slate Blue satin maxis at $69 to $138.

Best for: Fall and winter 2027.

Slate is the second shade on Kennedy Blue’s 2027 list and the light blue that carries into colder months. It is cooler and greyer than dusty blue, so pair it with charcoal or navy suits on the groomsmen.

Hair and makeup: A sleek low ponytail wrapped with its own hair, with soft brown smoky eyes and a mauve lip. Jewellery: brushed silver hoops.

5. Mist blue matte satin

The look: A mist blue matte satin maxi with clean, simple lines.

Where to find it: Birdy Grey Alice, $89.

Best for: Modern, minimal ceremonies.

Mist blue is pale and slightly grey, a colour for a bride who wants calm photos with no shine. Matte satin keeps it quiet, and a single white stem looks better with it than a big bouquet.

Hair and makeup: A centre-parted low bun with a clean finish, with a luminous bare base and a clear balm on the lips. Jewellery: nothing but tiny silver studs.

6. Icy mist metallic mermaid

The look: An icy mist blue pleated metallic satin mermaid gown.

Where to find it: Azazie Valerie, $99.

Best for: Winter and the icy blue trend.

Pinterest searches for icy blue wedding dresses rose 55 percent this year, according to Vogue Adria. This metallic satin catches candlelight and snow light in the same way. Order a swatch first, because Azazie’s Mist is now a metallic fabric.

Hair and makeup: A sleek high bun with a deep side part, with a frosted silver inner corner and a cool pink lip. Jewellery: a fine silver chain.

7. Powder blue spring maxi

The look: A powder blue sleeveless maxi dress.

Where to find it: Lulus Remarkable Arrival, $99 list.

Best for: Spring pastel weddings.

Powder blue is softer than sky and pairs naturally with peach and blush. I like it for an April garden wedding with sweet peas in the bouquets.

Hair and makeup: A half-up twist with loose curls below, with peach blush, soft brown liner and a coral lip. Jewellery: small pearl drops.

8. Bluebell tulle

The look: A bluebell blue soft tulle maxi gown.

Where to find it: Birdy Grey Adeline, $129.

Best for: Whimsical garden weddings.

Tulle in pale blue looks almost like watercolour in photos. Bluebell is a little deeper than sky, so it doesn’t wash out in bright light.

Hair and makeup: Soft romantic curls held back with pearl pins, with a lavender wash on the lids and a berry stain. Jewellery: pearl hair pins only.

9. French blue tulle for a destination

The look: A french blue tulle maxi gown.

Where to find it: Birdy Grey Dahlia, $149.

Best for: Summer and destination weddings.

Birdy Grey’s French Blue is a soft, slightly greyed blue. Tulle packs well in a suitcase and shakes out on arrival, which matters when the wedding is a flight away.

Hair and makeup: A low knot with a silk scarf tied through it, with sun-kissed bronzer and a glossy nude lip. Jewellery: gold huggie earrings.

10. Whisper blue faille for the maid of honour

The look: A whisper blue luxe faille gown with a structured, sculpted shape.

Where to find it: Jenny Yoo Camille, $325.

Best for: A splurge for the maid of honour.

If one dress in the party is going to cost more, make it the maid of honour’s. Faille has a crisp texture that holds its shape, and the pale blue reads expensive in every photo.

Hair and makeup: A polished French twist, with a defined brow, soft taupe eyes and a rose lip. Jewellery: white gold studs.

Trending shapes and details (dresses 11 to 21)

11. Light blue cowl satin

The look: A light blue satin maxi with a draped cowl front.

Where to find it: Lulus Piper, $99 list.

Best for: City and loft weddings.

Bias-cut liquid satin is the bridesmaid look of 2026. A cowl front catches the light, so keep the hair sleek and the jewellery minimal.

Hair and makeup: A sleek low bun with a centre part, with glossy lids and a nude lip. Jewellery: thin silver hoops.

12. Sky blue corset mermaid

The look: A sky blue chiffon gown with a corset bodice and a mermaid skirt.

Where to find it: Azazie Jessamine, $99.

Best for: The corset bodice trend.

Pinterest searches for drop-waist corsets jumped more than 1,400 percent this year. A corset bodice on a chiffon mermaid gives shape without the stiffness of satin.

Hair and makeup: A high sleek ponytail with a soft bump, with winged liner and a soft pink lip. Jewellery: a short pearl strand.

13. Sky blue satin corset A-line

The look: A sky blue stretch satin A-line gown with a corset bodice.

Where to find it: Azazie Azaria, $109.

Best for: Formal evening weddings.

This is the dress for a black tie evening. Stick to one metal across the whole party, and with sky blue I’d choose silver.

Hair and makeup: Old Hollywood waves swept to one side, with a soft silver lid and a classic red lip. Jewellery: silver statement earrings.

14. Dusty blue chiffon for the beach

The look: A dusty blue chiffon one-shoulder A-line maxi.

Where to find it: Azazie Brooke, $99.

Best for: Boho and beach weddings.

Chiffon moves in a sea breeze and dries quickly if a wave catches the hem. If your guests are also dressing for sand, my beach wedding guest dresses post has ideas that sit well next to dusty blue.

Hair and makeup: Beachy loose waves with a small braid, with a sheer tint that lets her freckles show and a peach balm. Jewellery: a gold anklet and small hoops.

15. Light blue plissé strapless

The look: A light blue satin plissé strapless maxi.

Where to find it: Lulus Oswin, $88 list.

Best for: The pleated fabric trend.

Plissé pleats add texture to a plain pale dress and hide creases after a long car ride. Pearl studs and a bouquet of white garden roses are all it needs.

Hair and makeup: A sleek top knot, with a matte skin finish with soft pink cheeks. Jewellery: pearl studs.

16. Pearl-trimmed light blue maxi

The look: A light blue strapless maxi with small pearl embellishment.

Where to find it: Lulus Perfectly Luxurious, $128 list.

Best for: Regency and Bridgerton-blue themes.

Searches for Bridgerton blue doubled on Pinterest this year. Pearls on the bodice do the work, so skip the necklace.

Hair and makeup: A soft Regency updo with ringlets at the temples, with rosy cheeks and a blotted berry lip. Jewellery: only the pearls on the dress.

17. Powder blue 3D floral

The look: A powder blue surplice maxi with soft 3D fabric flowers.

Where to find it: Lulus Rare Presence, $132 list.

Best for: A maid of honour who wants a different dress.

Dimensional flowers are one of the details that keep showing up in 2026 bridal collections. Give it to the maid of honour and dress the rest of the party in plain powder blue.

Hair and makeup: A loose low bun with a fresh bloom tucked in, with a peach glow and a soft coral lip. Jewellery: minimal gold studs.

18. Dusty blue pleated halter

The look: A dusty blue pleated halter shift maxi.

Where to find it: Lulus Gelsey, $89 list.

Best for: Summer weddings and the halter trend.

Halter necklines are up 145 percent in Pinterest bridal searches. This one leaves the shoulders free for a hot afternoon, and a rose gold cuff suits the soft blue.

Hair and makeup: A sleek low bun with a centre part, with bronze lids and a cinnamon lip. Jewellery: a rose gold cuff.

19. Flutter-sleeve light blue maxi

The look: A light blue flutter-sleeve maxi with a tie back.

Where to find it: Lulus Simply Delightful, $99 list.

Best for: Bridesmaids who want sleeves.

Some of your bridesmaids will want their arms covered, and flutter sleeves do that without feeling heavy. The tie back gives the photographer a pretty shot from behind.

Hair and makeup: A long loose braid over one shoulder, with a light tint and a blush pink lip. Jewellery: small pearl drops.

20. Sky blue tulle for watercolour photos

The look: A sky blue soft tulle maxi gown.

Where to find it: Birdy Grey Davina, $139.

Best for: Morning and overcast ceremonies.

Pale blue looks its best in shade or morning light. Book this one for an early ceremony and the tulle will look like a painting in the photos.

Hair and makeup: Soft curls pinned up with loose pieces, with a dewy base and a soft pink gloss. Jewellery: tiny silver studs.

21. The $79 sky blue mermaid

The look: A sky blue chiffon high-neck mermaid gown.

Where to find it: Azazie Velli, $79.

Best for: The tightest budgets.

At $79 this is the cheapest named sky blue dress on the list. The high neck means you can skip the necklace and wear statement earrings.

Hair and makeup: A sleek straight blowout tucked behind the ears, with soft taupe eyes and a mauve pink lip. Jewellery: statement silver drop earrings.

Convertible, plus-size, budget and winter picks (dresses 22 to 28)

22. Sky blue convertible chiffon

The look: A sky blue chiffon A-line maxi with a side slit that can be wrapped in different ways.

Where to find it: Azazie Wren, $89.

Best for: Mixed body types and rewearing.

One convertible dress can be worn as a halter, a one-shoulder or a strapless dress, so each bridesmaid picks the coverage she likes. It is also easy to wear again.

Hair and makeup: A low twisted ponytail, with rosy cheeks and a nude pink lip. Jewellery: silver hoops.

23. Dusty blue convertible satin mermaid

The look: A dusty blue stretch satin strapless mermaid gown that converts to other necklines.

Where to find it: Azazie Sorrel, $95 to $119.

Best for: Formal parties with mixed sizes.

Stretch satin moves with the body, and the convertible straps help when the party includes very different sizes. Champagne gold jewellery warms up the dusty blue.

Hair and makeup: A sleek side-swept bun, with a champagne lid and a warm nude lip. Jewellery: champagne gold earrings.

24. Light blue satin up to size 32

The look: A light blue satin dress with a deep V neckline.

Where to find it: Kennedy Blue Dottie, sizes 00 to 32, price on the Kennedy Blue site.

Best for: Plus-size bridal parties.

Kennedy Blue runs from size 00 to 32 and, according to earlier pricing research, charges the same at every size. That matters, because the average size 22 bridesmaid dress costs $67 more than a size 8. My plus-size cocktail dresses roundup has more fit tips.

Hair and makeup: A voluminous blowout with a deep side part, with warm bronze eyes and a soft berry lip. Jewellery: pearl studs.

25. Dusty blue satin wrap

The look: A dusty blue satin wrap maxi with an adjustable tie waist.

Where to find it: Baltic Born Vara, $74, sizes XS to 3XL.

Best for: Plus-friendly shapes.

A wrap dress adjusts at the waist, so it fits through a few weeks of change before the wedding. Read the return policy before ordering, because some Baltic Born orders refund only as store credit.

Hair and makeup: A low bun with a velvet bow, with a glowing base and a pink nude lip. Jewellery: brushed silver studs.

26. Light blue floral tulle on sale

The look: A light blue floral printed tulle maxi with a deep V and a smocked waist.

Where to find it: Baltic Born Layla, $43 on sale (was $108), sizes XS to 3XL, final sale.

Best for: A budget floral for the maid of honour.

A light blue floral print sets one woman apart while still matching the solids. It is final sale, so check the size chart twice.

Hair and makeup: A messy half-up bun, with a sheer glow and a peach gloss. Jewellery: tiny gold studs.

27. Light blue metallic maxi on sale

The look: A light blue metallic maxi dress with a soft shimmer.

Where to find it: Baltic Born Lynlee, $38 on sale (was $97), sizes XS to 3XL, final sale.

Best for: An icy winter look on a small budget.

For $38 you get the icy shimmer that is trending this winter. Pair it with silver heels and a white bouquet so the palette doesn’t feel cold.

Hair and makeup: A sleek straight blowout, with a silver shimmer lid and a pale pink lip. Jewellery: silver heels and small silver studs.

28. Winter blue shimmer gown

The look: A winter blue shimmer gown.

Where to find it: Baltic Born Arlene, $246, sizes S to 2XL.

Best for: Winter and black tie.

Winter blue is a frosty pale shade made for a December wedding. Add a faux fur wrap for the walk outside. My winter wedding ideas have more ways to keep a cold-weather party warm.

Hair and makeup: A sleek chignon with a side part, with a soft silver smoky eye and a rose lip. Jewellery: a faux fur wrap and silver drops.

Mix and match parties (ideas 29 to 31)

29. Coastal tonal blues

The look: Three bridesmaids in cornflower blue, sky blue and sea glass blue satin and chiffon dresses in different silhouettes.

Where to find it: Kennedy Blue Cornflower, Sky and Sea Glass, ordered together.

Best for: Coastal and summer weddings.

Kennedy Blue suggests these three as a coastal tonal party. Put every dress in one group order so the dye lots match, and dress the groomsmen in navy.

Hair and makeup: A mix of loose waves and low buns, with dewy skin and soft pink lips on all three. Jewellery: silver across the whole party.

30. Floral maid of honour with sky blue solids

The look: A maid of honour in a dusty blue floral embroidered tulle gown standing between two bridesmaids in plain sky blue chiffon gowns.

Where to find it: Baltic Born Arabella, $126, sizes XS to XL, with Azazie sky blue solids.

Best for: Setting the maid of honour apart.

Kennedy Blue and Revelry both suggest a floral for the maid of honour among solids. The Arabella stops at XL, so check her size before choosing it.

Hair and makeup: Soft curled updos with a fresh flower for the maid of honour, with peach cheeks and a rose lip on all three. Jewellery: the same metal on all three.

31. Slate, blush and champagne

The look: Three bridesmaids in a slate blue satin maxi, a blush pink chiffon maxi and a champagne satin maxi in different necklines.

Where to find it: Slate satin from Lulus mixed with blush and champagne dresses.

Best for: Soft, romantic palettes.

Kennedy Blue calls this trio soft and romantic. Light grey or charcoal suits on the groomsmen keep the palette cool.

Hair and makeup: Soft low buns with loose pieces, with warm rosy cheeks and nude lips on all three. Jewellery: champagne gold across the party.

How to style a light blue bridal party

Skin tone. Stylists sort blues by undertone. Icy blues can look harsh on warm, golden or olive undertones, while French and steel blue suit cool undertones. Dusty blue is the safest choice when the group is mixed, or let each woman choose her own shade from one blue family. If a fair-skinned bridesmaid looks washed out in bright sun, a bolder lip fixes it.

Flowers. Pale blue blooms like hydrangea and delphinium tend to disappear against a light blue dress. Build the bouquet around white garden roses, ranunculus or anemones, add blush sweet peas, and finish with silver dollar eucalyptus. Skip bright orange and dyed blue roses.

Groomsmen. Navy suits are the strongest match. Light grey works with the palest blues and charcoal with slate. Tan can look nice at a beach or barn wedding, though it sits apart from the cool blues.

Metal and shoes. Pick silver or gold and keep it the same across the party. Silver suits pale, cool blues and gold warms them up. Nude or silver block heels of 2 to 3 inches will last all day, and my comfortable wedding shoes list has pairs that hold up on grass.

Makeup. Nudes, peaches, soft pinks and lilac all suit pastel dresses. Ask for a glowing base and waterproof mascara for the speeches.

Photos. Light blue looks best in shade, on an overcast day or in morning light. Harsh midday sun washes it out, and late golden hour can turn it muddy. Take a swatch to the venue at the time of your ceremony and photograph it with your phone.

Where I’d start

For most parties I’d order free swatches of Azazie Sky Blue and Dusty Blue and Kennedy Blue Cornflower, hold them next to every bridesmaid’s face, and pick from there. If the group is spread across many sizes, start with Kennedy Blue or Azazie, because both carry a wide size range without charging more for plus sizes. For a winter wedding, look at the icy mist and slate options first.

About the research

Shade rankings come from Kennedy Blue’s published sales and swatch data, which is one retailer’s figures. Prices and sizes come from retailer pages checked in October 2026. Skin tone and photography advice is general guidance from retailers and stylists, so always test a swatch on the person and in the venue.
