When I first wrote this list, I picked ten boho dresses I kept seeing at barn weddings and beach ceremonies. A lot has changed since then. Boho brides now get married in every season, in city lofts as often as in meadows, and the dresses have followed. There is more crochet and more colour than there was even two years ago.
So I have rebuilt the list from scratch with fifteen dresses for 2026 and 2027, grouped by season. Thirty years of weddings have taught me that the season shapes a boho dress more than anything else. It decides the sleeves and the weight of the fabric.
What makes a dress boho
A boho wedding dress feels relaxed and romantic. Expect soft, flowing skirts, lace with an organic, hand-made look, and details that move when you walk, like tiers, fringe and flutter sleeves. Backs are often open or low. Most boho dresses skip the stiff corsetry of a ballgown, so they are easier to dance and sit in.
The other thing I love about boho is how personal it gets. Brides wear flower crowns, cowboy boots, bare feet or heirloom jewellery, and none of it looks out of place.
Spring boho dresses (dresses 1 to 3)
1. The crochet lace maxi
The dress: an ivory cotton crochet lace maxi dress with a V-neckline, short flutter sleeves and a low scooped back.

Crochet is the most handmade-looking lace there is, and it is having a real moment. It breathes well on a mild spring afternoon and photographs with lovely texture.
2. Sheer flutter sleeves
The dress: an ivory chiffon A-line dress with a plunging V-neck, semi-sheer full-length flutter sleeves and a soft sweep train.

Long sleeves without the warmth. The sheer chiffon floats in a breeze, which makes it an easy pick for garden ceremonies. Brides who love this one often like the softer, fairy-tale side of whimsical wedding dresses too.
3. Broderie anglaise with ruffles
The dress: a warm white cotton broderie anglaise maxi dress with ruffled cap sleeves, a fitted bodice and a tiered ruffle skirt.

Broderie anglaise is the cotton eyelet fabric you see on summer blouses, and in a wedding dress it feels fresh and a little vintage. Designers showed it again for spring 2027.

4. Strapless tiered dress
The dress: an ivory strapless dress with a straight neckline and a skirt of soft cotton-silk tiers that ends just above the ankle.

Perfect for a barefoot beach ceremony or a hot field wedding. The ankle length keeps the hem out of the sand.
5. Crossover halter
The dress: an ivory crepe dress with a crossover halter neckline, a strappy open back and a fluid floor-length skirt.

Halters are tipped to be the neckline of 2027, and a crossover version suits a boho bride perfectly. It shows off the shoulders and back without needing anything else.
6. Two-piece crop top and skirt
The dress: an ivory two-piece with a cropped lace top with short puff sleeves and a high-waisted flowing chiffon maxi skirt.

A two-piece gives you a sliver of skin at the waist and a lot of freedom to move. If you want something shorter for the party, browse my short wedding dress guide for a second look.
Fall boho dresses (dresses 7 to 9)
7. Dramatic bell sleeves
The dress: an ivory pearl-accented chiffon dress with a V-neckline, dramatic full-length bell sleeves and a soft A-line skirt.

Bell sleeves are the most boho shape there is, and they swing every time you raise a glass. The pearl accents are tiny and scattered, never heavy.
8. Fringe sleeves
The dress: a champagne lace dress with full-length sleeves finished in long fringe, a high round neckline and an open back.

Fringe is made for dancing. Every movement swings. It looks right at home at a barn or ranch wedding with a pair of cowboy boots.
9. Amber floral tiers
The dress: an ivory silk dress with tiers of soft amber floral embroidery, thin spaghetti straps and a square neckline.

For the bride who wants a touch of colour. Amber and rust florals look wonderful against autumn leaves and candlelit barns.
Winter boho dresses (dresses 10 to 12)
10. High neck lace with long sleeves
The dress: an ivory floral lace dress with a high neckline, full-length fitted lace sleeves, a keyhole back and a chapel train.

Covered but still romantic. Lace sleeves keep you warm for winter photos outside, and the keyhole back adds a little surprise. If you love the neckline, my high neck wedding dress roundup has more ideas.
11. Caped sleeves
The dress: an ivory crepe column dress with sheer lace caped sleeves that fall to the elbow and a low V back.

A capelet sleeve gives drama without bulk, and it looks lovely on a snowy day. Pair it with the cosy details in my winter wedding ideas.
12. Removable puff sleeves
The dress: an ivory off-the-shoulder lace dress with removable full-length sheer puff sleeves and a flowing tulle skirt.

Two looks in one. Keep the sleeves on for the ceremony in a cold church, then take them off for the reception.
New for 2027 (dresses 13 to 15)
13. Asymmetric sash
The dress: an ivory draped chiffon dress with a one-shoulder neckline and a soft sash on one side that can wrap around the neck like a scarf.

Asymmetry was all over the spring 2027 runways. It feels relaxed and a little Grecian, which suits boho very well.
14. Blush boho
The dress: a pale blush pink lace dress with a V-neckline, flutter cap sleeves and a soft tiered tulle skirt.

Muted colour is creeping into bridal, and blush is the gentlest place to start. It is lovely for brides who look washed out in bright white.
15. Lace peplum
The dress: an ivory lace dress with a ruffled lace peplum at the waist, thin straps and a straight floor-length crepe skirt.

The peplum is back, but softer. A ruffle of lace at the waist adds a boho touch to an otherwise simple wedding dress shape.
Styling a boho dress
Boho dresses love bare details. A loose half-up hairstyle, a light veil or a crown of real flowers all work. Keep jewellery to one piece, such as earrings or a family ring, so the lace stays the focus.
Shoes are easier than people think. Flats, low block heels, cowboy boots and even bare feet on the beach all suit the style. If you will be standing on grass or sand for hours, read my list of the 10 best comfortable wedding shoes before you buy.
Where I’d start
If you are not sure, try on dress 1 and dress 7. The crochet maxi and the bell-sleeve chiffon sit at the two ends of boho, one earthy and one airy. How you feel in each tells you which way to lean. Then choose your season’s group and narrow down from there.
